The information below is believed to be correct. However, the companies concerned reserve their right to change their rules and regulations regarding shareholders, or withdraw any concessions at any time. There is normally a period of time before new shareholders become eligible for concessions.

We have included the name and telephone number of the Registrars with each entry so you can check that the perks have not changed before investing.

A discount coupon is issued to eligible private individual shareholders which entitles the bearer and up to five travel companions, booking and travelling with them, to 10% off the price of any published British Airways fare. The flight coupon may be used to reduce by 10% the basic price of any published British Airways fare for a journey from or within the UK. The coupon may only be used towards leisure travel, subject to the normal terms and conditions, but it does offer a reduction on fares in any British Airways class of travel worldwide from UK domestic, World Traveller plus and Euro Traveller to Club World, Club Europe and First. 'World Offers' fares are also included. Coupons are only redeemable online - they cannot be redeemed through travel agents or over the telephone. Shareholders are entitled to a 20% discount on purchases from the Group's mail order catalogues. This offer is subject to a maximum saving for holders of up to 1,000 shares of £20; up to 2,000 shares a maximum saving of £40; up to 5,000 shares a maximum saving of £100 and over 5,000 shares a maximum saving of £200; in any calendar year. The normal catalogue value of discounted purchases made by any one shareholder in any one year must not exceed the values stated and is subject to an overriding maximum of £1,000 p.a.

BT offers shareholders discounts on various products and services. With the February and September dividend and May AGM (and Annual Accounts) mailings, there were special offers for shareholders on telephones, and internet and computing equipment from BT's e-tailer subsidiary, Dabs.com, as well as BT's Total Broadband services. For "e-shareholders" there were further benefits from, amongst others, Apollo Travel, Hertz and Halifax Share Dealing. Shareholders are entitled to a Shareholder Discount Card which offers a reduction on Fuller, Smith & Turner hotel prices (at weekends and subject to availability). The Discount Card is issued annually and new shareholders can obtain one from the Company Secretariat. Eligible shareholders are entitled to a 30% discount on standard Eurotunnel tickets for six single (or three return) journeys per year.

Qualifying shareholders are entitled to 10% off the full brochure cost of any holiday provided by UK based companies within the Holidaybreak Group. The following scheme rules apply to shareholders wishing to claim the discount: Bookings must be made direct with the UK offices of the company concerned. The 10% discount will be applied to the full invoice value but can only be given on full main brochure prices, so there may occasionally be times when you could get a better deal by taking advantage of a special promotion. The minimum shareholding must be held at the time of booking and on the date of travel. The qualifying shareholder must be a travelling member of the holiday party. Only one discount per holiday can be applied. There are no restrictions on the number of separate occasions when shareholders can take advantage of the discount. Shareholders will be subject to the booking conditions which are detailed in the appropriate holiday brochures. The discount is subject to a maximum of two people travelling when booking with Explore Worldwide.

Shareholders are issued with six vouchers per annum, each one of which entitles the holder to a 15% discount on accommodation, food and beverages on one visit only to a Millennium and Copthorne Hotel in the UK, France or Germany. No other discount or special offer may apply at the time of use.

Shareholders are entitled to a 20% discount on full price merchandise at the company's retail outlets. A voucher can be redeemed against a number of items on one transaction.

Eligible shareholders are offered a 10% discount on purchases made at the company's UK stores on up to £500 worth of merchandise. The discount is offered through vouchers which are normally dispatched with the Company Report and Accounts in June. They give 4 x £1 off when spending £10 or more, 2 x £3 off when spending £30 or more and 8 x £5 off when spending £50 or more. The vouchers are valid at the company's stores, Mothercare and Mothercare World, and through the Direct catalogue until the following May.

National Grid operates a Shareholder Networking programme, the aim of which is to allow shareholders to gain a better understanding of the business. The programme runs over two days and includes visits to operational sites and presentations by senior managers and employees. Participants also have the opportunity to meet and question Directors during the programme, the costs of which (including shareholder travel to and from the event) are covered by National Grid. The programme normally operates during early December. Participants will be selected by ballot from those applying, with priority given to those who have not recently attended.

Shareholders who own between 100 and 4,999 shares are entitled to a voucher for two day member badges on the day of their choice. Holders of a minimum of 5,000 shares are entitled to a single annual metal badge which allows entry into the Members Enclosure on each race day at Newbury. Holders of 10,000 or more shares are entitled to a double (i.e. two people) annual metal badge.

A voucher, which is valid until the end of October 2007, was sent to eligible shareholders on the register on 1 April. The voucher entitles the shareholder to a 25% discount on most purchases made on one occasion at any Next store.

Shareholders can receive discounts on travel arrangements booked through Wotton Travel Ltd, a subsidiary of Renishaw. Shareholders are eligible for discounts on tickets, holiday charter flights, package holidays, cruises and car rental. The discounts range from £30 off a holiday worth £500 - £650 to £200 off a holiday worth £2,751 - £3,000. These discounts are subject to change and terms and conditions apply.

Private Rio Tinto individual shareholders can benefit from a Corporate nominee service and a dividend reinvestment plan, offered in conjunction with Computershare. Details of the benefits offered to shareholders are mailed with the Annual Report. With the last report shareholders were offered a discount on wines from Waverley TBS. The offer situation is reviewed annually.

Holders of a minimum of 100 ordinary shares are entitled to 1 x £10 voucher; holders of 1,500 or more 'A' shares will receive 5 x £10 vouchers = £50; and holders of 3,000 or more 'A' shares will receive 10 x £10 vouchers = £100. The value of the vouchers is based on the number of shares held as at a certain date each year. The vouchers are valid for one year and can be used in any of the participating managed houses for meals, accommodation, bar or other services. They can also be used, during the year, at the brewery reception counter for beers, wines, spirits or memorabilia. Shareholders who would like to use these vouchers when they attend the AGM will be able to purchase bottled beers from a stall in the luncheon marquee. Wines and Spirits can only be collected at the AGM if orders are placed and paid for in advance. Shareholders who do not live within a convenient distance of Faversham and who wish to purchase memorabilia should send their completed order, together with vouchers and any additional payment, to Mrs V Mannouch at 17 Court Street, Faversham, Kent ME13 7AX. Qualifying shareholders are entitled to a free of charge mobile telephone connected to either the ClubCall or ValueCall tariffs with a discount of £10 on the monthly line rental, for so long as the shareholder retains the minimum qualifying shareholding in the Company. All calls and other charges incurred must be paid by direct debit in accordance with the chosen tariff. This offer is limited to one handset per shareholder irrespective of the number of shares held (provided they have the minimum). If there is more than one qualifying shareholder registered at any address, each qualifying shareholder is entitled to a free handset, with discounted line rental provided the shares are registered in their name. All handsets are provided subject to the minimum contract term and monthly line rental (less discount) as set out in the handset guide. If the shareholder subsequently upgrades their mobile handset, the line rental discount will be reduced to £4 per month.
