Mobile telecommunications is the sole sector in the blue. Vodafone posts more gains after a strong performance yesterday when it marginally topped revenue expectations in the final quarter of 2009 prompting an upgrade to its full year operating profit guidance. Today's worst performer is the general financial sector, largely due to the plummeting share price of Interdealer broker ICAP. The interdealer broker ICAP has warned that underlying full-year profit will come in well below last year's figure and short of analysts' estimates. The company said it expects profit before tax, amortisation and impairment of intangibles arising on consolidation and exceptional items of £295m-£315m for the financial year to 31 March 2010.
