HL Research - Our view on this Fund

Mark Dampier The volatility this year stems from the US sub prime mortgage market and this fund has suffered along with its peers. That said, Bill Fries has the fund positioned for changing market conditions. Currently, the focus is on companies that he believes have consistent earnings growth, such as Dell and Microsoft. We are hopeful that when there is a recovery America may lead the way and this fund should in turn benefit.

William Fries joined Thornburg in 1995 after a career with the USAA Investment Management Company, one of America`s leading mutual fund companies, where he was a senior manager of equity portfolios. Bill began his investment career as a securities analyst after qualifying as a Chartered Financial Analyst in 1974. He was one of the founders of Thornburg`s US Equity team and is the lead manager of their flagship Value Fund.
