About the Fund Manager
Mark Breedon
Located in: London
Mark is head of Asian & Emerging Market Equities at Investec. Mark also manages the £73m Global Free Enterprise Fund and its offshore mirror, the $162m GSF Global Strategic Value Fund.
Mark joined Investec from Alliance Capital Management, where he first became involved with emerging markets. He moved to Alliance Capital in 1986, where he started and then managed the Worldwide Privatisation Fund, a first quartile performer in Lipper's International Fund category. He also managed the NYSE listed Southern Africa Fund, $100m Spain Fund and Austria Fund. Prior to ACM, Mark managed developed market equity accounts for Brinson Partners, after an initial three years as head of European equity research at Vickers da Costa. He graduated with a BA Hons. in Economics from Coventry University.
Mark has been the recipient of numerous performance awards from Lipper and S&P over the years and has built an outstanding track record for his clients who have included governments, endowments and institutions as well as individuals.
