A native of Hong Kong, Magdalene came to the UK to further her studies and earned an MA in Finance and Investments from the University of Exeter in 1986. She joined National Provident Institution in 1986 as an Investment Analyst researching Asian equities and was promoted to Far East Fund Manager in 1989. In 1993 she settled in Scotland working for Scottish Mutual
running their Far Eastern portfolios. Magdalene joined Standard Life in September 1995 as Far East Investment Manager in charge of retail funds. Magdalene is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin and has travelled extensively in Asia.
