First State Asia Pacific Leaders – income unit now available

By Rob Morgan | Tue 24 November

First State has introduced an income unit for their popular Asia Pacific Leaders Fund, which will enable investors to receive any income that the fund produces rather than having it automatically reinvested. Holders of the existing accumulation units will be unaffected and the fund will be run in the same way without any target in terms of income.

Angus Tulloch and Alistair Thompson favour stable, cash generative businesses, which has meant that a small amount of dividend income is received by the fund.  With a growing number of Asian companies paying dividends it makes sense for an income unit to be offered, though the initial level distributed is likely to be small at around 1% (variable and not guaranteed) a year after charges.
