Neil Woodford might be bearish on the outlook for the UK economy, but he is optimistic about the prospects for this fund. It is heavily biased towards businesses he believes can continue to grow earnings and dividends even in difficult economic conditions. These include the pharmaceuticals, tobacco, utility and telecommunications sectors. He continues to avoid the banks, and is also cautious on the mining sector believing it to be overvalued.
