Ways to Invest
Find out how to invest in this fundHL Research - Our view on this Fund
In our view equity income funds offer investors access to some of the highest quality companies in the UK. They offer attractive yields, and as these companies are currently undervalued compared with the rest of the market, they also offer the potential for capital growth should their worth be reappraised as the economy recovers. On the other hand, if recovery falters, their defensive qualities should also make them less vulnerable. The Artemis Income Fund is one of our favourites, managed by Adrian Frost and Adrian Gosden, who encapsulate the essence of equity income investing in their approach. By seeking good quality UK companies which offer high dividends, they aim to achieve rising income and long-term capital growth. Diversification is achieved through companies that derive significant earnings overseas. Foreign companies currently account for around 13% of the fund; the managers have the ability to take this up to 20%.
We believe the Artemis Income Fund would make an excellent choice for investors seeking a core equity income holding. I am confident the long-term returns won't leave you disappointed.
