About the Fund Manager
Andrew Preston
Located in: Glasgow
Andrew Preston graduated from Melbourne University where he studied Economics and Oriental Studies, including Chinese and Japanese languages. This was followed by post-graduate studies at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan, prior to joining the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs. He joined Murray Johnstone, the predecessor company to Aberdeen, in January 1985 where he managed equity portfolios in the UK, US and Japanese markets. In 1992, he joined Murray Johnstone International (MJI), managing
global portfolios primarily for North American clients, and was appointed a director of MJI in 1993. He has specialised in Socially Responsible Investments since 1992 and was appointed Head of SRI in 1996. Following the merger with Aberdeen, Andrew was appointed Head of SRI for the Aberdeen Group. He currently manages SRI portfolios in the UK, Canada and the U.S.
