Sam was appointed Head of the US Equity Team in 2005, he covers the Healthcare and Consumer Staples sectors and is a member of both the Healthcare and Consumer Staples Global Sector Teams. Sam manages our range of US invested UK unit trusts. Sam joined Baring Asset Management in 1993 as a graduate trainee in our London office. In 1994, he was posted to Baring Asset Management's Hong Kong office as a Research Assistant on our Asia Pacific Equity Team. Sam returned to London in 1995 and joined the Strategic Policy Group to work on a project that evolved into the launch of Baring Asset Management's Global Sector Teams. He joined the US Equity Team in 1997 and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2002. Sam received a B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering (First Class Hons.) from University College London and an M.B.A. from the Management School of Imperial College, London. He received the CFA designation in 1997.
