While the sell off in the commodity market has affected the performance of this fund, Hugh Hendry remains extremely positive about the long term prospects for agriculture. Demand for agricultural produce is driving crop prices higher. Furthermore, underinvestment has created shortages and food demand should not be impacted by the weak economy. After a strong run the fund has fallen heavily in the risk averse environment.

Hugh Hendry
Partner, CIO. Hugh is the principal portfolio manager and leads both the investment thinking and the research team. He has 17 years' industry experience with Baillie Gifford, CSAM and Odey Asset Management. At Odey he managed a range of funds from $1.0bn of long only European mandates to the The Eclectica Fund. Hugh graduated from Strathclyde University in 1990.
