About the Fund Manager
Ian Clarke
Located in: London
Ian is a Fund Manager (Index Funds). After reading Mathematics at Oxford University, he joined L&G in June 1971, transferred to Legal & General Investment Management in 1973 and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 1976. Ian's career in investment in UK equities began in 1974. Initially he worked in the actively managed UK Equity team with responsibility for investment analysis and all aspects of fund management relating to various UK market sectors. He transferred to Index Funds in 1996 and was responsible for day-to-day management of the UK Index Trust. He is now responsible for the team managing the UK, European and Emerging Markets equity index funds. This includes the day to day management of the flagship UK Equity Corporate Pensions Managed Index Fund. Ian has been a member of the FTSE Actuaries' UK Equity Classification Committee (now the FTSE Global Classification Committee) since 1979 and was a member of the Council of the IIMR from 1995 to 2000.
