Our view on this Fund

The BRIC markets have taken quite a hit this year although Michael Konstantinov continues to see a compelling investment case in each market. Russia is discounting a lot of negative news which he feels is unjustified believing valuations are extremely attractive. China and India offer the most attractive domestic demand growth stories, and Brazil has continued to thrive on an improved economic outlook. We believe the long term outlook is promising.

Allianz Global Investors is one of the largest asset managers in the world with investment centres based all around the world. In the UK, Allianz Global Investors offers an extensive range of funds investing in the world's major markets. The equity funds are managed by RCM, their core global equity platform. This platform is supported by their proprietary 'Grassroots' research network which provides additional information on under researched market trends, the competitive environment and global business developments. HL sector comment: Specialist

Our view on this sector

There is a wide range of funds in this sector with a mix of property, financials, agriculture and single country funds to name a few. The specialist sector has been hit hard in performance terms in recent months as both financials and commodity prices have fallen heavily. There are many quality funds in this sector, therefore investors need to look through the short term performance numbers. Specialist funds tend to be more volatile than broader based funds.
