Shareholder perks

A discount coupon is issued to eligible private individual shareholders which entitles the bearer and up to eight travel companions, booking and travelling with them, to 10% off the price of any published British Airways fare.

The flight coupon may be used to reduce by 10% the basic price of any published British Airways fare for a journey from or within the UK. The coupon may only be used towards leisure travel, subject to the normal terms and conditions, but it does offer a reduction on fares in any British Airways class of travel worldwide from UK domestic, World Traveller plus and Euro Traveller to Club World, Club Europe and First. 'World Offers' fares are also included.

Coupons are only redeemable online - they cannot be redeemed through travel agents or over the telephone. To book, shareholders should visit the website www.bashareholders.com.

Qualifying shareholders are entitled to 10% off the full brochure cost of any holiday provided by UK based companies within the Holidaybreak Group.

Companies include: Superbreak, Highlife Hotel Breaks, Luxury Hotel Collection, London Travel Service, Airport Hotels, Theme Park & Attraction Breaks, Explore Worldwide, Regaldive Worldwide, Eurocamp, Keycamp, Eurocamp Independent, Select Sites and Touring Cheque. The following scheme rules apply to shareholders wishing to claim the discount:

1. Bookings must be made direct with the UK offices of the company concerned.
2. The 10% discount will be applied to the full invoice value but can only be given on full main brochure prices, so there may occasionally be times when you could get a better deal by taking advantage of a special promotion.
3. The minimum shareholding must be held at the time of booking and on the date of travel.
4. The qualifying shareholder must be a travelling member of the holiday party.
5. Only one discount per holiday can be applied.
6. There are no restrictions on the number of separate occasions when shareholders can take advantage of the discount.
7. Shareholders will be subject to the booking conditions which are detailed in the appropriate holiday brochures.
8. The scheme is subject to amendment or withdrawal at the absolute discretion of the directors.

Eligible shareholders are entitled to the following discounts:

• 15% discount on Service, parts and accessories
• £100 off the retail price of used cars
• £100 off the retail price of new cars

These benefits exclude the Porsche businesses and other exclusive vehicles where availability is limited. In order to qualify for these discounts, shareholders must provide suitable evidence of their status as an Inchcape shareholder prior to the commencement of any negotiations.

Eligible shareholders are entitled the following discounts with Irish Ferries:

1. 20% discount on passenger and car ferry services between Ireland and Britain.
2. 10% discount on passenger and car ferry services between Ireland and France (direct sailings only).
3. 5% discount on Irish Ferries inclusive package holidays (incorporating travel with Irish Ferries).

These are the maximum discounts available and cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount scheme. Bookings must be made through the website www.irishferries.com. Qualifying shareholders are entitled to discounts on property. The discount varies depending on the number of shares and how long they've been held, and ranges from:

5,000 - 9,999 shares held for a continuous period of 1 year: discount of £7,500 on a 2 bedroom apartment; held for a continuous period of 3 years: £15,000 discount on a 2 bedroom apartment.
500,000 plus shares held for a continuous period of 1 year: discount of £135,000 on a 4/5 bedroom coastal village villa; held for a continuous period of 3 years: £175,000 discount on a 4/5 bedroom coastal village villa. Scheme rules and restrictions apply.

National Grid operates a Shareholder Networking programme, the aim of which is to allow shareholders to gain a better understanding of the business.

The programme runs over two days and includes visits to operational sites and presentations by senior managers and employees. Participants also have the opportunity to meet and question Directors during the programme, the costs of which (including shareholder travel to and from the event) are covered by National Grid. The programme normally operates during early December. Participants will be selected by ballot from those applying, with priority given to those who have not recently attended.

Private Rio Tinto individual shareholders can benefit from a Corporate nominee service and a dividend reinvestment plan, offered in conjunction with Computershare.

The company also offers a corporate ISA for UK residents wishing to hold Rio Tinto shares in an ISA account and a low cost dealing service, both through Stocktrade.

Holders with fewer than 1,500 'A' shares receive vouchers to the value of £10; holders of 1,500 - 3,000 'A' shares will receive vouchers to the value of £50; and holders of 3,000 or more 'A' shares will receive vouchers to the value of £100.

The value of the vouchers is based on the number of shares held as at a certain date each year. The vouchers are valid for one year and can be used in any of the participating managed houses for meals, accommodation and drinks. They can also be used, during the year, at the SNDC Sales Office in Faversham for beers, wines and spirits or similarly in the shop at the Brewery Visitors Centre where memorabilia is also available.

Shareholders who would like to use these vouchers when they attend the AGM will be able to purchase bottled beers and memorabilia but wines and spirits can only be collected after the AGM if orders are placed and paid for in advance. The voucher scheme rules are printed on the reverse of the vouchers.

Qualifying shareholders are entitled to a free of charge mobile telephone connected to either the ValueTalk or ValueCall tariffs with a discount of £10 on the monthly line rental, for so long as the shareholder retains the minimum qualifying shareholding in the Company. All calls and other charges incurred must be paid by direct debit in accordance with the chosen tariff.

This offer is limited to one handset per shareholder irrespective of the number of shares held (provided they have the minimum). If there is more than one qualifying shareholder registered at any address, each qualifying shareholder is entitled to a free handset, with discounted line rental provided the shares are registered in their name.

All handsets are provided subject to the minimum contract term and monthly line rental (less discount) as set out in the handset guide. If the shareholder subsequently upgrades their mobile handset, the line rental discount will be reduced to £4 per month.
